Drug Abuse Prevention

Committee Purpose Statement:
To educate the community about keeping youth drug-free and to provide positive alternatives to substance use.

Through the ACTION survey, WPYC found that drug abuse is one of the the biggest concerns for people our age in Sedgwick County. The Drug Abuse Prevention Committee is working hard to combat drug abuse through many events and resources for local teens. WPYC developed and published Teen Pages as a directory for youth about the resources available to them in the community (check out the link!). Jr. Jumpstart is an annual day-long leadership retreat for middle-school students that encourages them to make a positive difference in their community or school as well as be drug-free (check out the photos below!).
