YOUTH ON BOARD

>>WPYC members during a session at the Youth on Board Training.

Anytime youth get out into the community and start volunteering, it is inevitable that they will have some type of interaction with adults. And although WPYC has had tons of great experiences with adults, there have also been times where a little more knowledge in the area could have helped. So in 2000, WPYC attended a Youth on Board training, where members learned how youth and adults can work best together. After the training, five of our members became certified trainers of the Youth On Board Sure Shot Introductory Workshop, which has enabled WPYC to teach local community members the Youth On Board philosophy of having youth in a decision-making capacity and how to create effective youth and adult partnerships. Through role-playing, testimonials, discussion, and team-building games, WPYC can teach organizations how to have successful youth and adult partnerships in whatever they do.
